The air content in freshly batched concrete changes rapidly, especially during transport during hot weather. What this means for you as a ready-mixed driver is that the load you’re hauling is likely to not have the right air content when you arrive at the job. That is when having an air-entraining agent, such as Fritz-Pak’s Super Air Plus, can save you a lot of time and money.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE RATE

Super Air Plus. For larger increases in entrained air content, use one 8-oz bag (227 g) of Super Air Plus to increase the entrained air content for a full load of concrete by ¾ to 2%. For use as a primary air-entraining admixture, a dosage rate of 0.25 to 1.25 oz./cwt. (0.15 to 0.80 g/kg) is recommended to achieve 5 to 7% entrained air
content. Cementitious content, concrete temperature, ambient temperature or concrete mixes containing accelerators, retarders, or special admixtures such as superplasticizers or silica fume may
require dosage rates outside the recommended range. A typical non-air concrete mix ranges approx.. 2% air content.

BENEFITS OF AN AIR-ENTRAINING AGENT
Fritz-Pak’s Super Air Plus increases the air content of fresh concrete by up to 2%. So you can be sure you have the right air content even in extreme temperatures. This powerful admixture comes packaged in a water-soluble bag that is easily added to the truck. Once in the concrete, the air-entraining agent will activate within five to 10 minutes. Super Air Plus contains the same chemical as Air Plus, just with double the concentration. It is ASTM certified and approved by the Department of Transportation in states across the country.

WHY USE AN AIR-ENTRAINING AGENT?
Using an air-entraining agent in your mix improves the durability of the concrete while increasing its workability. Our Super Air Plus does not change the water-cement ratio of the mix and will not impact the overall strength of the concrete. Air-entraining admixtures are the ideal product to use for concrete being placed in colder climates, as the additional air pockets help protect the concrete from freeze-thaw damage.
