OTHER USES FOR DELAY SET ADMIXTURES
Delay Set Admixtures, such as Mini Delay, can be used for many different purposes other than slowing the hydration process for finishing reasons. For example, adding Mini Delay Set to concrete wash water in your drum stabilizes the water enough to be left in the drum. This allows you to return to the plant and use the water for the next load, even if that load isn’t scheduled until the next morning.

Besides being useful for ready-mixed drivers, delay set admixtures are helpful for concrete pump operators. Whenever a delay happens on the job, the pump operator has a choice to make. Either they shut the pump off and clean it out, or they recirculate the boom. Cleaning the pump means the equipment will have to be reset once the concrete arrives. And recirculating the boom increases the risk of a plug from hardened concrete – unless you add a bag of Mini Delay Set. This will keep the concrete plastic until the job is ready to start up again.

BENEFITS OF MINI DELAY SET
Fritz-Pak’s Mini Delay Set contains no calcium chloride or other corrosive materials that could compromise the integrity of the concrete. Like other delay set admixtures, Mini Delay Set may be redosed for extended set delay. Using this admixture won’t impact the overall strength of the concrete.
