Epoxy paint for concrete floors, SureCrete's Dura-Kote Water-Based Colored Concrete Epoxy for floors is a 2 component 52% solids, low VOC floor coating system that is used in a wide variety of applications: durable colored layer for both new and old interior concrete floors, primer coat, and binder for Dura-Kote Flakes and Metallics. The high loading of SureCrete pigments achieves the preferred substrate hide and tint uniformity in 100’s of colors. Dura-Kote colored epoxy concrete water based sealer generates the premier balance of strength, flexibility, and chemical resistance, all in a low odor, low VOC formulation. Unlike nearly all epoxies, Dura-Kote Colored Water Based Concrete Epoxy for Floors has remarkable properties related to moisture:

Withstands high vapor transmission rate, up to 13 pounds per 1,000 ft² (5.4 kg per 100m²) in 24 hours.
Provides a non-permeable vapor barrier, even in basements.
Applies on fresh concrete as soon as three days after pouring and placing concrete.
Applications range from manufacturing facilities, warehouses, bars, clubs, retail stores, automotive showrooms, hospitals, medical centers, residential interiors, garage floors, gyms, locker rooms, stadiums, or anywhere that an exceedingly resilient floor is desired.

SureCrete's WB pigmented colored concrete epoxy tinting system can create products that are vastly different than conventional colored concrete sealers available on the market today. The tints used by SureCrete's colored water based floor epoxy for floors tinting station are far more durable and UV resistant than typical pigmented concrete sealers. With these pigments, your finished colored water-based epoxy coating system will last much longer than a normal water-based epoxy sealer ever would, with the color staying much more vibrant over a long period of exposure. Not only are the tints more durable and UV-stable than typical colored concrete sealers, but the color range available is also quite a bit wider than those available on the market presently. Dura-Kote colored WB epoxy for floors is available in more than 200 standard colors and now and, with the power of the tinting station, all these colors, and more are available nearly instantly at any of our participating distributor centers. We can even match your desired color palette from a different manufacturer such as Sherwin-Williams, Dupont, Baer, Valspar or Scott Paints. Or, if you're looking for a bit more panache, we can also perform themed color matching such as State University colors, Professional sports teams themes or even your favorite movie or television show! Just come into any one of our ON DEMAND distribution centers to see how we can help you create your dream floor!

How Do You Apply Colored Water-Based Floor Epoxy on Concrete?

Step 1: Surface Preparation

Any surface that is about to be sealed needs to be completely cured, clean and free of all contaminants, and fully profiled and etched. Moisture should also be limited as colored water-based epoxy systems are non-vapor-permeable sealers.
Make sure that temperatures will remain between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit and a relative humidity below 75% and there will be no precipitation in the applied areas for a 12 hour period following application.

Step 2: Mixing Water-base Colored Floor Epoxy

Setup a mixing area that's out of the way of your application area, and begin by mixing Part A for three minutes to make sure the pigments are properly dispersed.
Pour in 1 part B to 4 parts A for a minimum of three minutes and pour out ALL material onto intended application surface.

Step 3: Apply Epoxy on Concrete Floor

First coat can be applied using a squeegee or premium quality roller.
Once the product has been rolled/squeegeed out evenly, it should be back-rolled to eliminate roller marks and achieve even color distribution.
First coat may function as a stand-alone product depending on your desired application. However, for a more scratch-resistant complete coating system, apply a finish coat utilizing a polyurethane or polyaspartic transparent coating.

Step 4: (Optional) Apply Epoxy Top-Coat Protection

If applying a finishing top coat, and the first layer has been allowed to cure for more than 12 hours, first coat should be screened with a 100 grit sanding screen.

While not required, we suggest the application of a Sacrificial Coat such as SureFinish to your floor to ensure its integrity over an extended period without wearing down the original surface.
